Walk the Talk When it Comes to Resume Cover Letter PreparationJuly 14, 2008 by call_kirk.
What advice can be given on how to and not how to write a cover letter or resume. Are you a job applicant or a felon? If you were to receive a “generic “cover letter and resume – as an employment screener how would you react to them? Most likely not very well. If you have been in the business 25 yeas or a week – you have seen them all. . Any employer can tell when they’ve been “spammed” by a resume and cover letter that’s going out to a hundred or even millions of employers. Do first class professional job of preparation and preparation. It’s well worth it. Imagine that you have all the time in the world to prepare – as if you had ten years in Stoney. Take the time to tailor a cover letter that looks like you’re serious about obtaining that employment. It can be emphasized or overemphasized. Walk the talk. Do the homework. Do the research. Do it more than thoroughly. Your chances on obtaining that new job or carear depend on it.

It can be said that often in a business environment and in business plans as well as planning that there are routine structures and basics that must be adhered to. It used to be said that “businesses run on forms”. Not any more or at all it seems . it all comes down to profitability and market penetration in the end. It might be said that the company that you work takes all the responsibility for creating the right or “correct “ environment. Maybe in upper management meetings on the top floor - well at least in their minds. It all starts with accepting personal responsibility for your actions in the workplace. That starts in actual job interviews from day one. Shaun Stevens Ace Temp Employment Agency Winnipeg

Most Amway Distributors , do a lot of things correct. In research it has been extensively documented that there are often simple - yet overlooked keys to the kingdom. It was not just that new new distributors who fumbled along the road of life but even experienced business people that will point out “you cannot tell me anything….. I have been in the ….. business for 10 … 20… 35 . x years”. Yet was it ten years worked or one year worked 10 , 20 or 50 times. Most of these “business authortities “ do not know , and will never comprehend . The first rule and guideline to follow is to treat your business - like a real business - after all it is your business - your real business. “Is this anyway to run a business?” Some will print business cards and then rest on ther laurels - as if the printed business card is a testament of their real success - financial or in their minds eye. In the end - its all about attitude and the solidness of the foundation of their business attitudes and expertise. Your business may be online , it may be virtual , it may be a physical place - but in the end its all about attitude and the image of your business in your mind’s eye Wpg Auto Com Where Can I Buy License Frames in Winnipeg Winnipeg Extended Stay Hotel Motels Posted in Uncategorized | Print | 1 Comment » Life’s TeachingsJuly 4, 2008 by call_kirk.

Everyone in the everyday world , and the work a day world will tell you knowlingly that its “not want you know but who you know”. The world runs on it. If you can find someone on the inside, someone higher up who can sponsor you or even be a “mentor”. To get a sponsor, you first have to be liked by that person. You will be liked or disliked more on your mannerisms and you attitude than on the way you dress. Further in terms of dress and choice of clothing and colors you will appear to be in a brighter, more cheery mood if you make it a point of using well chosen colors. These colors are - a blue or pale yellow combination , a beige ( can be tan or camel) and blue combination. Any time that you wear a blue suit with a off color shirt , or a beige suit with a medium to light blue suit - that is a wise choice. For an interview or business in general it is always a good idea to carry a pen , pencil , or both. Carry only gold or silver. If you are disorganized , cannot seem to handle responsibility and demands it can be an issue or a harbinger. It can be arbritary. Under no circumstances , should you carry cheap ballpoint pens that may be on sale on Staples big box store or whatever. Even if the firm is highly cost conscious - the type where the door squeaks from lack of oil - due to the cost of that oil or wd 40. - then it is not a good idea . There will be plenty of time after you are hired for cost saving and cost saving memos that you will get from upper management. My story, Being tied to an event in life is normal everyday thing it’s as apple pie is to being a desert. One can only hope that the event was positive. Being tied to a negative event means a constant reminder of what happened, followed by self-pity, shame and questioning ones own identity. Living with it for 30 something years is another thing! When a person goes for a walk? Do they walk to forget something, Or to remember something? Ever wondered what everybody else is thinking? This is the way I’ve cope with being a victim of childhood sexual abuse. I have developed a constant evaluation of everything I’ve seen and heard through out the day. For no reason at all something will pop into my head. “ hey that guy from last night, the one selling the red sports car. He said one thing in the morning then a slightly different the next time we talked, and now he has changed it all together”. Living up too ones expectations of ones self can be demanding, try not living up to the expectation of being a victim of childhood sexual abuse. Most studies suggest that being a victim is the first step to becoming the abuser, and that it’s a series of events that leads you to become a monster. The pain I’ve become accustom too is so great that I even carry it in my shoulders. When I’m even a little stressed I’m in pain. When I walk around the mall, or public in general, sometimes I make eye contact with certain people. It’s as if it feels like they are looking past me, or even threw me. I’ve seen this before! But where? As my mind searches for the answers. I’m left with a dry taste in my mouth. I can’t quite put my finger on it, then it hits me, pop goes my balloon as the need to figure out where, and my reality comes quickly, then slips away and dissipates, I then remember it’s the same look I’m giving off when I see my self in the reflection in the mirror. Suddenly it feels like my life fades darker, like I got my own black cloud following me. At times I replay different events that happened to me. Like this time I was walking down to black bridge, a train bridge close to down town. As I walked threw the trails that run along the river. You can see the boats driving by, and people are reading while sitting on park benches. Then as I made my way down near the bridge I came to where the bushes were a lot thicker, I suddenly I felt strange, then out of now where comes this native man, he has this really weird look on his face and my mind quickly detects that he is on the prowl. As he sees me his eyes grew bigger, here comes dinner flashed across his face. Suddenly my inner voice jumps out, and I asked him did you see my brother? He was with my dad, they were just in front of me and he quickly looked over his shoulder to see if he could see anybody that may have slipped by him. An attache case is an indispensible item for the business person and those applying for a job. Not only does it give you something to carry - it makes you look professional and has an air that you are a person of purpose. Attache cases are symbols of authority. If you see a person on Wall Street without an attache case you can bet that they are not an executive and carry little clout or power. Image as Kirk Stevens says is everything. Without it you are down on your luck and the sharks move in. An attache case is par of the mandatory business uniform of today. Indeed some male executives carry attache cases even if they are empty , sometimes nothing more than to carry their lunch. Better an attache case than a lunch box to make that impression on the job site or the job interview office. Posted in Uncategorized | Print | No Comments » |
